OUR SERVICES
The increase in bird populations in urban and farm environments world-wide has brought with it many challenges. These include damage to property and disease from bird defecations, as well as uncontrolled breeding in environments removed from natural predators. Avian or bird pest control has become a very necessary measure.
Many different bird pest control solutions have been implemented, including netting, sonic devices, lights, bird-proofing, spikes and electric current. Unfortunately it's been found that birds habituate to these measures quickly, and that over time there is no permanent change in bird behaviour.
Raptor bird pest control and using the techniques of falconry has been found to be the most effective and humane way of relocating problem bird species by making use of the natural instincts imprinted into wild birds before they hatch. The profile of a predator is instantly recognisable by every bird species; birds who feel threatened by a predator will naturally stop breeding and move away from the predator's flying territory and will not return readily.

RAPTOR PATROLS
Our raptors - mostly Harris Hawks - are flown under constant supervision in and around the affected areas after dark with artificial lighting. This scares the "pest" birds during their roosting time and unsettles them. When regularly exposed to raptors, "pest" birds will vacate to new roosting areas.
We will visit your site, investigate your needs, consult with you and then propose a flying plan to address your pest bird problem. Our site solutions typically include an intensive initial flying programme where we visit the site almost daily (over 1-2 weeks) to significantly reduce the pest numbers. We then move onto a maintenance plan to chase new birds out of the site by regular raptor recognition threat flights.
No bird pest control solution will ever completely eradicate avian pests with one intervention; all control solutions require ongoing maintenance.
